How to use the site

«вязь» (vyaz) is an assistant and tracker for cross-stitch. It brings together in one account the steps that usually live in different programs: finding a chart in the catalogue, drawing or correcting it in the editor, stitching from it and marking finished stitches in the tracker, and keeping count of threads and fabric in your stash. One chart – one project – one progress, and all of it shows on your profile.

Around that is a community: short posts and blogs, follows and a feed, reviews of charts, private messages, a wiki the members write themselves, and a classifieds board where you can sell, buy or give away what is left over from your needlework. This section of the wiki is the guide to the site: what is where and how to use it.

Getting started

Getting an account. While the site gets ready for launch, registration opens only for test rounds: use the «Sign up» link in the header to create an account with your own email and confirm the address from the letter. Until launch the form asks for an invite code – it is already filled in by the link you were sent. If you have no code, the site's team issues accounts. Sign in at /en/login – the «Log in» link in the header. A lot is open without signing in: the «Gallery» of charts, the «Wiki», «Classifieds», the calculator tools and the games.

Language. The site works in three languages – Russian, English and Ukrainian. The language switcher («EN ▾» on English pages) sits in the header and in the footer of every page: pick a language and the same page opens in it. Every page address starts with the language – /ru/…, /en/… or /uk/… The titles and descriptions of charts, posts and messages stay in their author's language unless they have been translated.

Where to ask

If something is not in this guide or does not work, write to us: the «Support» link in the footer of every page leads to the form «Ask us something» – /en/support/new. You do not need an account for it. How questions and answers work is explained in Rules, reports and support.
